All university faculty and staff should take the time to familiarize themselves with the Tulane Purchasing Basics, which include the Purchasing Rules of Thumb:
- Most university purchases should be made through the eProcurement system
- You should always seek purchasing approval via eProcurement BEFORE you authorize a purchase
- Check requests will be rejected except for a very narrow set of transaction types
- PCards should not be used to purchase items that are available via eProcurement
- All Travel arrangements MUST use Concur or he university travel agency
- Do NOT spend your own money - most personal reimbursement requests will be denied
Good luck, and again, welcome to Tulane!
